I love it here. They have so many activities and classes for all ages. Their water park is amazing and I also love that they have pre-k for little ones. Also a day care for when you want to go get a work out done. The membership is honestly more than worth it.
Very nice establishment. Super clean, very friendly and helpful staff. I lack the words to say how wonderful the YMCA is. Great place for families, children and adults.
I love the facilities. And this would be a 5 star because of that. But I have to put 2. Due to the fact we have been members for 2 months and everytime we have questions about things we are met with a rudeness from the front desk. I use to be a member at Naperville for 12 years and it’s what drew me back. I’m not sure if they just hate their job or what not but if it doesn’t change I will absolutely terminate my membership. That’s not the Y environment I experienced growing up that drew me back.
The child care thats for a couple hours so you can get a workout in is pretty bad. One thing I don’t understand is this is a health and fitness facility. Why can’t my kids come workout with me if they’re under 13? I have two extremely active, strong, kids that could benefit from their gym rather than sitting in a room playing video games. The parents that use this child care are obviously active and most likely want their kids to follow.
Also the last time I went there was a man in his 50s there just sitting watching the kids. He didn’t work there but was just sitting. What’s going on here?
On three different occasions, the older lifeguard with short white hair has ruined our time at the YMCA Plainfield swimming pool. My kids were in the pool having a good time for 20 minutes, with the other lifeguards on duty, no problem. Then she came in and complained we weren’t following some rule about being within arms reach, the kids can touch the entire pool flat footed easily, I was in the pool to my ankles, activity watching them, not on a phone or distracted and she comes in after us being there 20 minutes and she says it’s not okay and runs to get her manager.
If you are having a good time, she will find a way to ruin it.
I’m tired of the YMCA hiring people with no common sense.
The Y is built on community and bringing people together and she, that particular employee, chases people away.
Not friendly people @ all I’ll rather go to the one in Joliet. Definitely treat children horribly. Thought it would have changed by now but it hasn’t. Beautiful building but horrible staff may not be all but it only takes one bad apple to spoil the entire staff. Not sure why it would taken five people to be @ the front desk.
I can get a workout in while my child plays with other kids in the child watch area or during her ballet on Saturday. She loves the pool. Fitness/activities for mother and child for just over $2 a day. Can't beat that for this quality. I feel safe leaving my child in the day care as one must pass through multiple entryways and several employees to get in! Go during the week when there is less people, if possible.
Oh my gosh I am loving this location!! They welcomed me as soon as I came in, the place was so clean, and so many things to do for myself and the kids. They have an indoor splash pad, sauna, steam room, and the locker rooms have large lockers! The kids corner was amazing and makes me so happy to actually work out. Even better, they have personal training options and a physical therapist for a lower cost than regular gyms. All in all, amazing experience! Great job!
